Trànsit Projectes, a cultural management company located in Barcelona, will collaborate with the Catalan artist Pau Faus and the argentinian group of architects a77 within the framework of Activate_DISONANCIAS in the aim of carrying out research on ephemeral architecture for public spaces.
The research will be carried out within the project of the Argentinian group of architects a77, comprising Gustavo Diéguez and Lucas Gilardi. Its aims will be to design and produce a hybrid architecture in the courtyard of the Can Xalant, a centre for contemporary creation and thought in Mataró, as an extension of the activities and contents generated by the centre. At the same time, a nomadic “prosthesis” will be designed and created to extend the activities of Can Xalant to other spaces in Mataró and other towns in the area.
Pau Faus will investigate, analyse and identify the emerging situations of the sociocultural context of Mataró in order to be able to intervene suitably in its public space via the ephemeral architecture proposed by the a77 collective.
The artist will collaborate with the three organisations involved in the project: Trànsit (through its R&D&I Department), a77 and Can Xalant. Trànsit Projectes is beginning the project from its R&D&I Department in the aim of experimenting with new methodologies and strategies: territorial analysis and intervention, process evaluation, collaborative projects and digital platforms for its development, as well as experimenting with ephemeral architectural structures for cultural use.
